New Year, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter are among the most celebrated holidays . These holidays have their traditional decor and meal.
For Christmas, the traditional meal is chicken.
For Thanksgiving, it is turkey.
For Easter, it is beef.
And for new year, we follow our new year’s resolution list. The meal tradition may be different across continents but where I’m from, it’s a tradition. We substitute with other meals, sometimes. Rarely, though.
Last Christmas, I composed a short poem on what each of my Christmas experiences had been like . Some memories made me smile. ๐
…most of all my seventh Christmas
CHRISTMAS
Poetry…
With baby teeth strong enough to break biscuits,
I giggled with snacks and fries in my mouth,
As I watched an older boy making faces,
A boy I later learnt to be my brother with metal braces …
My fifth Christmas,
I learnt of dear Santa and his herd of deers,
With gifts by my bedside that Christmas morning,
Mother said it’s Santa’s gift for not being naughty…
My seventh Christmas,
I made my first snowman with ice, chocolate and carrot from our fridge.
Since then, foods have been kept out of my reach
But I played with my snowman till I had him for lunch
Mother said things she keeps in the fridge are not for us to touch .๐ฅบ
