Trudging Painful memories

What fears have you overcome and how?

Fear is an amplification of  negative moments that have metamorphosed over a period of time.

It exaggerates a deep concern.

Popular diagnosed fear due to past experience known as PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) can be challenging to overcome.

Yet the above is only one of many forms of fear.

Fear can be irrational: eg fear of ghosts or monsters Or something that you don’t even know why.

Fear can be rational: this is a fear in the face of a real threat eg in war,  when someone is pointing a gun or knife at you during a robbery.

Fear can be primal: this occur when irrational or rational fears are triggered. Eg watching a horror movie or hearing very descriptive spooky tales.

Regardless of the forms fear can take,  being afraid is exhausting and that’s a FACT.

To overcome irrational fear:

  • Acknowledge the fear ( it’s okay to be afraid)
  • Define the fear (irrational, rational or primal)
  • Expose it  (for diagnosed fear in cases of PTSD having a therapist is helpful,  to avoid being overwhelmed)

What is your most irrational fear?
